The hotel staff was absolutely wonderful in helping us out in English with resturant recommedations, driving directions, switching us to a room with a shower instead of a bath tub plus miscellaneous other items. They were always asking how they could help us. It made our stay in Toulouse much easier as Americans.
WiFi hard to use.
The location near the railway station Toulouse Matabiau was good. The reception did their best.
The hotel or at least the room 114 shouldn´t have three stars. The bed was hard and narrow, for one person all right, but for two, not enough. The shower had something brown (fungus?) where the basin joined the tiles. The bathroom didn´t have a proper door, but an "accordeon" door that wouldn´t close properly. I didn´t like the carpeting, I have my suspicions that the room wasn´t vacuum cleaned on a daily basis, because on the third night my nose started to run and my travel companion snored, which doesn´t normally happen. The next night things were again back to normal.
Good location, 5 min walk to train station and 5 min walk into town. Staff we friendly anf helpful. Room was standard, nothing special, moderate size and a little dated.
Check in time seemed a little variable, confirmation said 2pm, when we arrived (after travelling through the night) we were told we couldn't check in until 3.30pm. When I returned to the hotel to wait about 1.30pm I was told our room was ready. In my opinion room was slightly overpriced (for some reason hotels in Toulouse seem to be more expensive than other places.)
Hotel Riquet is an easy walk to the train station, even for those with significant baggage. It is also well separated from the usual train station fauna, which is an ultra big plus. We had a very large street-level room which was quiet and pleasant.
By American standards, the breakfast was overpriced, limited and uninspiring. Still, it's worth doing for the convenience if you're catching a morning train.
location, price, friendly staff
poor breakfast, smell of dumpness in room and entire floor
We booked an executive suite which consisted of a large comfortable room bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and small armchairs, nicely decorated and furnished, with a large spacious well-fitted bathroom. The staff were excellent, very friendly and with good English but tolerant of poorly spoken French also! The Hotel is well located, a short walk from the station and only 5 minutes walk from the old centre of the city.
The area between the hotel and station can be a little 'seedy' at night, but we encountered no problems associated with that
